I have been spending a lot of time trying to get the weeds back under control. I think I'm currently winning. At the end of January I planted cherry tomatoes in potting soil, potting soil with 20% vermicompost and a commercial seed starting mix with fertilizer. I have been taking those plants to the farmer's markets to show the positive effects that vermicompost has on plants. This week they have had a few tomatoes ripe enough to eat. I did a tasted test and without a doubt the tomatoes grown in the vermicompost mix were sweeter and had better flavor than the tomatoes grown in the commercial seed starting mix. I had Mike do a taste test and he agreed. I will be giving a lot more taste tests to family and friends.
