The last Sunday of July we saw an ad on Craigslist for this cute little puppy. He is named Dexter after our cows. A black lab, not registered, but he has a lot of lab blood as can be seen from his pictures. Dexter is very smart, but also has a LOT of energy. It's lucky for him that he lives on a farm. He requires a lot of our time as we help him to become a well behaved doggy. He is also a joy to have in our lives!!
Dexter taking his first ride in Sal, the Kawasaki Mule. He fell asleep 10 minutes in to watering the cows. When we picked him up he was only 6 weeks old so he needed a lot of sleep.
Dexter sleeping on my lap at my desk while doing paperwork.

Dexter in front of the zinnias. He really likes digging through the dirt. I used a shock collar for a few weeks to train him not to go near the road. He seems to have learned that rule well. Look at the size of his paws, gonna be a big boy!

Though he's not allowed on the furniture, the ottoman doesn't really count. And he looks so stately posing. The interior decorating style inside the house is now Early American Dexter because he is a chewer and will ruin anything he can. So there are no pillows, no cozy throw blankets, just a lot of dog bones and toys.

And here's Dexter with his new soccer ball , a Christmas present. He has great ball handling skills.
Our Charlie died August 2024. Cookie died January 18th 2025. I don't think I wrote anything about it because we really liked them and they were greatly missed. I know you know how it feels if you've loved a pet. They become very special.
